Modern slavery
Statement
What is the Modern Slavery Act 2015?
The Modern Slavery Act 2015 (the “Act”) seeks to address the role of businesses in preventing modern slavery occurring in their organisations and supply chains. It applies to businesses of a certain size, which are required to publish a statement setting out the steps they have taken to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking are not taking place in their business or supply chains
This statement applies to Intelligent Lilli Limited (referred to in this statement as Lilli). The information included in the statement refers to the financial year 2024.
Who are Intelligent Lilli Ltd?
Founded in 2014, Intelligent Lilli Ltd (previously known as Kemuri) is a purpose-led technology company that supports organisations in health and social care to deliver a proactive care model.
Lilli’s lifestyle monitoring technology supports people to live independently, through round-the-clock behaviour monitoring powered by AI.

Our Commitment
Lilli is committed to the highest standards of social and environmental responsibility and ethical conduct. Whilst we are not legally required to comply with the provisions of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 due to our size, we adopt the spirit of the Act where possible. As such, we have developed strong and long-standing relationships with our supply chain and have visited supplier premises in the past. Lilli understands that this requires an ongoing review of both its internal practices in relation to its labour force and, additionally, its supply chains.
This voluntary statement has been published in accordance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015. It sets out the steps taken by Intelligent Lilli Ltd to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in its business and supply chains.
Lilli does not enter into business with any other organisation, in the United Kingdom or abroad, which knowingly supports or is found to involve itself in slavery, servitude and forced or compulsory labour. We have clear processes in place in terms of recruitment and payment of all employees, and our Whistleblowing Policy is set out in our Company handbook.
Our recruitment and people management processes are designed to ensure that all prospective employees are legally entitled to work in the UK and to safeguard employees from any abuse or coercion once in our employment.
No labour provided to Lilli in the pursuance of the provision of its own services is obtained by means of slavery or human trafficking. Lilli strictly adheres to the minimum standards required in relation to its responsibilities under relevant employment legislation in the UK, and in many cases exceeds those minimums in relation to its employees.
Definitions
Lilli considers that modern slavery encompasses:
- human trafficking
- forced work, through mental or physical threat
- being owned or controlled by an employer through mental or physical abuse of the threat of abuse
- being dehumanised, treated as a commodity or being bought or sold as property
- being physically constrained or to have restrictions placed on freedom of movement.
Supply chains
Corporate and Operational services:
In order to fulfil its activities, Lilli uses the services of a number of companies that contribute to the effective running of the company, and also services related directly to the provision of the service that we offer to our customers.
Corporate:
Operational:
These resources are reviewed on an annual basis in line with our renewal of our own Modern Slavery statement.
Manufacturing services:
Our product involves the manufacture of physical hardware. Our sole hardware provider is Develco Products, a Danish company based in Aarhus, Denmark. Develco manufactures our hardware in Thailand, using the services of an EMS partner GPV. GPV maintains compliance with both Thai and International standards listed on their website and include OHSAS 18001, TLS 8001, ISO 14001 and UN Global Compact. With specific regard to slavery:
- GPV conforms to the TLS 8001 Thai Labor Certificate, also known as the Thai Labour Standards (TLS) 8001-2553, which is a voluntary certification system established by the Thai Ministry of Labour. To achieve compliance a company must be independently assessed by an accredited third party. It is designed to promote fair labour practices and ensure compliance with national and international labour standards within Thai enterprises. It specifically prohibits both child labour and forced labour. It also enshrines workers rights to freedom of association and collective bargaining, outlines requirements for working hours and leave entitlements, regulates occupational health and safety and enforces non-discrimination in the treatment of all employees regardless of race, gender, age, religion or other statuses.
- GPV conforms to UN Global Compact, which outlines 10 principles to manage the firm in a sustainable and socially responsible manner and is based on the universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights as outlined by the UN organisation. The 10 principles include items specifically eliminating all forms of forced and compulsory labour, the abolition of child labour, and requiring companies to respect the rights of workers to freedom of expression and association and the right to collective bargaining.
To confirm compliance with TLS 8001 and UN Global Compact, Lilli dispatched a senior member of staff to visit the production facility in Bangkok to spend time with the line managers and staff on the production floor. We are very proud to be partnering with Develco and GPV, who uphold these standards admirably.
Potential exposure
Due to the nature of the industry that Lilli works in, Lilli considers its exposure to slavery/human trafficking to be very limited. Our UK workforce are knowledge workers and work remotely allowing for significant freedom. We have closely inspected our physical supply chains and are confident in their compliance. We have taken steps to ensure that any aspects of slavery do not take place in our business nor the business of any organisation that supplies goods and/or services to it.
Steps
Lilli carries out due diligence processes in relation to ensuring slavery and/or human trafficking does not take place in its organisation or supply chains, including conducting a review of the controls of its suppliers.
The Organisation has not, to its knowledge, conducted any business with another organisation which has been found to have involved itself with modern slavery.
In accordance with section 54(4) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, the Organisation has taken the following steps to ensure that modern slavery is not taking place
- Annual review of all significant suppliers to ensure their Modern Slavery statements are current and valid.
- Annual training of all staff to ensure their understanding of the law.
- Continuous evaluation of supplier contracts for termination powers in the event of the supplier being involved in modern slavery
This statement is made in pursuance of Section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and will be reviewed for each financial year.
