Transforming Care Delivery:
Lilli’s Partnership with North Tyneside Council

Optimising Care Efficiency and Reducing Costs Through Innovative Remote Monitoring Technology

The challenge

In April 2021, Lilli partnered with North Tyneside Council to address the growing pressures on social care services, particularly around carer capacity, care assessment backlogs and hospital discharge delays. The goal was to implement a system that could enhance efficiency, reduce costs and maintain high-quality care for residents.

Lilli’s remote monitoring technology was deployed across various pathways, including frailty, hospital discharge and reablement, to meet these challenges head-on.

The impact of
insight-led care

Through the implementation of Lilli’s technology, North Tyneside Council achieved remarkable outcomes:

7,132
additional carer hours generated in six months.
£132,575
in cash savings during the pilot, with projected annual savings of up to £13.4 million.
43,800
bed days freed up per year, equal to 120 bed days per day.
12
full-time carers redeployed daily thanks to time saved.

Our solution

A Data-Driven Approach to Streamline Care
Lilli’s remote monitoring technology was introduced to North Tyneside Council’s care services to provide data-driven insights that would:

Care: Optimise care packages and right-size services.
Financial Savings: Reduce costs and increase resource efficiency.
Hospital: Accelerate hospital discharge and prevent readmissions.

Care stories
from North Tyneside

Roger’s Story: Maintaining Independence
Roger, a 92-year-old resident with dementia, was able to remain at home longer thanks to Lilli’s monitoring technology. The data provided assurance to his family and care team that he was safe and well, ultimately preventing an unnecessary move to a care home. This proactive approach gave Roger an additional six months of independent living.

“We’ve prevented people going into residential care, reduced some care packages and maintained some people in their own home - preventing a more significant crisis.”

Former Assistant Director of Wellbeing and Assessment, North Tyneside Council
